Sofrito – International Soundclash

Just over a year since the release of the ‘Tropical Discotheque’ compilation, Sofrito have announced the release date for a new release entitled ‘International Soundclash’. If you are familiar with last years compilation, then you will know this is huge news.

According to the Strut Records site, the tracks set to feature on the forthcoming selection originated in countries such as ”…Trinidad, Colombia, Dominica, Congo, Cameroun and beyond”. As previously the album has been put together by Hugo Mendez and Frankie Francis, and with the artwork again having been created by long term Sofrito/Soundway collaborator Lewis Heriz, this is sure to be an essential addition to the collection.

You can also hear the first track from the compilation below courtesy of the Afropop site. Additionally, the compilation is set to feature a track featuring Nidia Gongora (singer with Quantic’s Combo Barbaro) and previously un-released material from the Owiny Sigoma Band.

Set for release on 24th July, keep your eyes pealed and your ears ready for an ‘International Soundclash’ like never before.
